Ricoh Invests in MDS


When it comes to business most business people are always thinking about cutting down their company expenses in order to make maximum profit. However, they are not able to do that because there are many things interconnected like printing and making arrangement for all the paper work. However, Ricoh has revolutionized the way business people work with the help of their effective office document management. Recently, Ricoh made an announcement about their new plans in the year 2011 and they announced that they would make an investment of $300 million to Ricoh global managed document service which is also known as MDS.
Ricoh MDS is one of the global services that Ricoh provides to various businesses across the planet. The service helps these companies to pay more attention to their actual job rather than worrying about the documentation part. It was announced that this decision will definitely boost their business model and they will be benefit more from it. It was also announced that this investment would also benefit the customers who are using MDS as they will be able to improve their workforce and increase their productivity. In one of the researches done by IDC for Ricoh MDS it was revealed that companies are always looking for alternatives to bring down the cost to company through effective document management. Angele Boyd, IDC Group Vice President and General Manager, Imaging/Output Document Solutions and SMB said that companies can now save $6 million annually through the improved version of MDS.
In one of the researches done by Ricoh in partnership with IDC it was also found that companies who don’t use effective document management often have problems in effective information and document workflow of which they are not fully aware of. However, Ricoh found out that it happens mainly because of the fragmentation of departments in organizations and also because employees and executives have low level of awareness about document management. Ricoh’s President and CEO, Shiro Kondo said that the new business shift will definitely make their customers more agile, responsive and productive in the future and it will also them to cover up their annual targets on time.
